Admatec launches Admaflex Discovery at Formnext 2026: a desktop ceramic 3D printer that can grow with you
A €75,000 entry into technical ceramics: compact enough for any lab or fab, upgradeable to larger platforms.
Goirle, The Netherlands – Wednesday October 21st – Admatec Additive Solutions BV today announces the Admaflex Discovery, a desktop ceramic 3D printer for anyone starting out in technical ceramics and additive manufacturing. It is Admatec’s first desktop system, and its first system designed to be upgradable from the start. Customers start with a smaller and affordable formfactor and can later expand the same system to a larger, more powerful configuration. The Discovery will be launched at Formnext 2026, 17–20 November in Frankfurt, Germany Hall 11.0 booth C42.
“With the Discovery, ceramic 3D printing fits on lab and fab benches and fits a first budget. Because it is upgradeable, customers never outgrow their investment.” – Michiel de Bruijcker Managing Director, Admatec Additive Solutions BV
Desktop: an easy way in
As the name says, the Discovery is made for exploring and first stage manufacturing of ceramic 3D printing. Its compact desktop form factor gives universities, research institutes and R&D teams direct access to Admatec’s 15+ years of ceramic 3D printing experience, right at a desk. It is aimed at users who know ceramic 3D printing is relevant to their business, have defined the first potential projects, and are ready to discover AM Ceramics.
Within the enclosure, the technology is proven. The Discovery shares proven operation principles with the well-established ADMAFLEX 130 evolution system. Essential technology pillars as the foil system, material recirculation system, full layer-to-layer control and the Z-ax Zero clamping system are all featured in the desktop Discovery system.
Upgradeable: an investment that keeps its value
The Discovery is built around customer feedback from customers who want to utilize their investments while requirements advance. Discovery does exactly that. The upgrade will increase the building envelope, have higher projection resolutions, more power, and the ability to work with two resolution settings.
After the upgrade the system becomes a standalone model. Customers can start exploring and expand as their applications mature, continuing to use the system they already know.

Open by Design
The Discovery maintains Admatec’s open material approach. Users can work with their own ceramic slurries or with Admatec premixes. Supported materials are Al2O3 (alumina), SiO2 (silica) and base resins for custom formulations. Users have full control over system settings, allowing them to develop and optimize materials and processes for their specific applications.
